Growing up, I struggled over how to answer to people who expected me to know everything about my birthplace.
I didn’t have that huge connection I was supposed to have.
The “Mazatlan Through My Eyes” series is a documentation of the daily life in my city of birth.
One of my goals as a photographer is to give outsiders a different view of the cultural history, architecture, and lifestyle in my native Mexico, while examining the elusive concept of homeland.
